Here at Healey's, we take our cider making very seriously. Cornish Rattler is our longest established draught cider, and is now available in some 650 pubs. In 2008, our first ever draught Pear Cider was launched to complement Cornish Rattler. A formidable duo, 'Pear Rattler' can now be found in some 150 pubs. Herein lies their story....

Cornish RATTLER
Cloudy semi-sparkling Cyder and it bites at 6% abv,
working in partnership with St Austell Brewery we were able
to launch our draught cyder CORNISH RATTLER into St Austell Public
Houses and selected Free Houses throughout Cornwall.
In 2003, we experimented with a new cyder, "Cloudy Rattler" in our farm shop. The response from customers was promising, and so in the summer of 2004, we trialled it in selected St. Austell brewery oulets. In attracting a wider audience, we realised the potential for a cornish draught cyder, and so we re-branded and re-launched it as "The Rattler"into the cornish market place. The public response from locals and visitors was huge and

The name comes from a well known
Cornish variety of apple “The Rattler”, which
originates from the city of Truro just a few miles from
here.
The Rattler contains a high content of apple juice compared to some
other ciders that only contain 20-30% apple juice.
If your local pub does not stock it, ask them to get some
in! Tell the landlord to contact St Austell Brewery who
deliver throughout the South West. As you may well know, we've just launched the bottle version so that you guys can enjoy this product wherever you are! Check out the bottle page for more info! |
Pear Rattler! For those warm summer afternoons....
With increasing interest in Pear ciders, we spotted the opportunity to launch our own version - "Pear Rattler". This blend of Rattler cyder and pear juice is an exceptionally fruity cider, and being our weakest cider at only 4%, is perfect for a warm summers' afternoon.
Initially this product was launched in draught format only. We seleted 16 of our best Rattler outlets to trial Pear Rattler. Following a launch party at Healey's Cyder Farm however, interest in the product was massive. Only two weeks into the trial, we were being approached by several other outlets wanting to stock the product. Eventually giving into demand, we extended the trial to 50 outlets.
